b'Close & Connected During Physical DistancingGirlz Space is an after-school program that offers girls in grades 6-8 an opportunity to interact with other girls in South Etobicoke. The program offers fun filled activities and focussed on building leadership skills and addresses safety, building healthy relationships with self and others.Back in March 2020, I remember being with the girls and they were excited about the upcoming March break program and we were discussing all the places that we would visit and the activities we would be doing together. Little did we know the break thatwas coming.On Friday, March 13th, we placed a sign on the door that upcoming programs were cancelled. And by March 16th, we had put together care and craft packages for the girls.It was very important to me to let the girls know that even though we are not together, we are still here for you and each other .'
