Marc Hull-Jacquin

Chief Executive Officer Shelter Movers - Transit Secours

A passionate social justice leader, Marc founded Shelter Movers while on leave with his daughter in 2016. Struck by the dangers involved in leaving an abuser, Marc developed an innovative
moving service for survivors fleeing abuse. The only service of its kind in Canada, Shelter Movers fills a critical gap in the country’s social safety net, having completed over 10,000 moves for families in crisis since establishing in 2016.

The organization is currently powered by 1,000 volunteers across Canada. Prior to Shelter Movers, Marc spent 15 years in
government relations, program evaluation and policy development, providing expertise to public and private sector organizations like Enbridge, the Senate of Canada and several nonprofit organizations.

Marc is the recipient of the 2022 YMCA Peace Medal and the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal. He holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Ottawa and currently lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife, Meghan, and their three lively children, Cybil (16), Xavier (14) and Clarisse (11).
