Shelter and Outreach for Women
Tending to Trauma is a supportive 10-week group program designed for survivors of intimate partner violence who are ready to deepen their healing in community.
In this program, participants will explore how trauma lives in the body and learn gentle, practical ways to support their nervous system. Through guided discussions, reflective practices, and shared learning, participants will build a personalized toolkit for self-care and healing.
Together, we will work toward reclaiming the body as a source of safety, power, wisdom, and pleasure.
This group provides a warm, respectful, and supportive environment where participants can connect with others on a similar healing journey.
Throughout the 10 weeks, participants will:
Learn how trauma impacts the body and nervous system
Explore ways to support emotional and physical regulation
Develop practical tools for grounding and self-care
Reconnect with the body through gentle awareness practices
Build community with other survivors in a safe and supportive space
Reflect on personal healing and reclaiming personal power
Each session is facilitated by experienced counsellors and designed to honour each participant’s pace and comfort level.
At Women’s Habitat, we believe healing happens in spaces where survivors feel safe, respected, and supported.
Programs like Tending to Trauma are designed to help participants reconnect with themselves, strengthen their sense of agency, and build tools for ongoing wellbeing.
You are not alone on this journey.
