Board of Director Recruitment 2026​

Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke supports women, children, and youth impacted by Gender-
Based Violence (GBV), including domestic and intimate partner violence. We have shifted gears from charity to social investment models and building safer futures through prevention, healing, and systems transformation.

What You’re Looking For

  • Strategic thinkers
  • Financial, government relations and fundraising experience
  • Passion for gender equity and ending gender-based violence
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered values
  • Representation from diverse communities
  • Men willing to lead the work to address, prevent and end GBR

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend board meetings (in-person and virtual)
  • Participate at least two Board committees
  • Support fundraising and strategic priorities
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization
  • Uphold governance and fiduciary duties

Time Commitment

The time commitment required from you varies depending on activities; however it is an average of 4 hours per month for two 3-year terms.

Eligibility or Requirements

  • Must be 18+
  • Prior board experience an asset but not required
  • Police reference for vulnerable sector required
