Christine Hogarth is the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of Ontario’s Legislature and a former Member of Provincial Parliament for Etobicoke–Lakeshore. She served in the Ontario Legislature from 2018 to 2025, holding senior roles including Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Housing; the Solicitor General and Emergency Preparedness; and Red Tape Reduction. She also served as the lead on the Standing Committee on Justice, Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, and as a member of the Standing Committee on Finance, the Standing Committee on House and Procedural Affairs, and the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.
During her time as an MPP, Christine advanced key policy initiatives in domestic violence, educational supports for survivors of sexual abuse, animal welfare, transit, and healthcare. She successfully sponsored and led private members’ bills and motions that passed unanimously, including stronger penalties for handgun-related offences, Clare’s Law to better protect victims of domestic violence, expanded provincial funding for fertility treatments, and legislation addressing puppy mills, which led to the government’s PAWS Act.
A strong community advocate, Christine secured unprecedented investments for Etobicoke–Lakeshore, including funding for five new or refurbished schools, major refurbishments to two local hospitals—one recently completed—additional hospice beds, and the extension of the One Fare transit program to the area.
Prior to provincial office, Christine served as Chief of Staff to a Toronto City Councillor. She is recognized for her collaborative leadership, clear communication, and deep understanding of government, governance, and public policy.
