Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke Intimate Partner Violence Tookit for SEC Partners

Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke will be delivering a workshop designed to strengthen awareness and understanding of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Domestic Violence (DV), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) among local organizations. The sessions will explore the many forms of abuse—including coercive control, harassment, emotional and psychological abuse, economic and physical violence, reproductive coercion, sexual and spiritual abuse, and technology-facilitated violence. Participants will also learn about key legislative changes and significant Supreme Court of Canada decisions from the past decade. The session will also focus on IPV as a public health issue, strategies for prevention and awareness, and the impacts of IPV on children through the lens of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
